NAMM 2010 !!!!!
Posted: February 1, 2010

Hi Guys!!!

I just had the most unbelievable time at the NAMM show in Anaheim, CA.  I was invited out there to do an interview for the soon to come documentary The AXE FACTOR.  We had so much fun with Steve and Greg from Massive Post Productions, it was awesome!  But that was just the beginning!  We met up with the legendary Al DiMeola and he asked me to come up and jam at the PRS stage with Paul Reed Smith himself!  We had an incredible jam!  Al was in top form and showed why he is everybodies inspiration!  When we were through, I was shocked when Paul Reed Smith gave me the guitar that Al was playing!!!!!  I still can't believe it!!!  Paul then invited me to all the PRS functions at the show and we had a blast!!

Here are a couple of clips from NAMM:

More to Come!!

The AXE FACTOR!!!

Hi Guys!

I am honored to have been asked to participate in the creation of this TV documentary.  It centers around the fascinating story of Daisy Rock Guitars and then moves into presenting the players, the old guard and the up and coming, and their influence in the guitar world.  A Massive Post Production, The AXE FACTOR has interviews from many of the most influential players, like the unmatched Jennifer Batten, and some of the newcomers, like Orianthi and myself, who want to carve out our own little niche!  Here is a small sample from my interview (more to come):

Thank you Steve and Greg!!! Love, Kristen

Wow! What a great show. You have a great future ahead of you. I am so glad I got to experience your performance at the show, as well as the other great acts we all admire. This was the fourth festival and every one of them has been phenomenal. And thanks for spreading the word about the festival and the good things the Burtons are doing. I truly hope you'll be back next time or, whenever your schedule will allow a return trip. I hope Shreveport treated you well.

Kristen Capolino from New York is only 19 years old but boy could she play. Her guitar was a Gibson Flying V and it was almost as big as she was. This girl is tiny but like they say, dynamite comes in small packages. She played with skill and speed similar to Steve Via’s style of guitar playing. I saw on her website that one of her hero’s is Al Di Meola and as fate would have it he was in Shreveport to perform as well. Kristen only played one song but it was super. She wore a white tank top, shorts and shoes that sparkled like Michael Jackson’s famous glove. The whole time while playing she was all over the stage and flashing the biggest smile I’ve ever seen. Shawn had played bass for her so he introduced her to Peyton and me after the concert and she was very friendly and easy to talk too. Oh yeah, she was still smiling

I worked security at James Burton's Guitar Festival. Just to put it mildly, I was blown away by your performance. Energy! WOW!! I wish I could bottle some of that energy you gave out. Just driven! Speechless! The kind of music that you want to listen to at 160 mph!! I drive race cars (got a drag police car). Wish it had a stereo! Well, I am going to have to by your CD. I do have a sports car capable of 160 so I'll let you know how it goes!! Good luck!

Wow. I took my wife and two of our friends to the Guitar Fest last night expecting a good show, and got BLOWN AWAY by a little dynamo with a Flying V. I think I may have damage to my exposed skin from the burndown you put on us! OUTSTANDING SHOW! Thanks, and we will be buying your music! Hope you come back next year.......

Kristen, I was blown away with your guitar playing. I wish you had played more than one song but one was enough to keep me begging for more. Thanks for coming to Shreveport, please come back soon. Love your smile.

You totally stole the show at Shreveport last night. I will be telling everyone about you. Hopefully, you will find your way to Dallas in the not so distant future. Best of luck to you!

Saw you for the first time at the festival Sat. night. You are truly amazing and inspiring with the passion you portray on stage. I've never seen anyone that truly looks like they enjoy what they do, but your passion for music shines through everything else on the stage. I'm pretty sure you stole the show and you've garnered many fans down here from the show. You are going to be huge.
Best of luck and God bless,
